On days with many departures, housekeeping often cannot clean all rooms. Rooms without an arrival on the same day then remain dirty and are only cleaned the next day. So that the housekeeping tasks for these rooms are not lost, they are specified again the following day and displayed in the Housekeeping Work-Planner and on the Job list.
The trigger is not the status "Clean", but whether "Housekeeping done" has been set for the room. A room can already be "Clean" but not yet "Housekeeping done". In this case, the tasks are still specified again. The room status remains unchanged.
Settings
The calculation is controlled in the System configuration under Company ยป Other with the setting "Compute housekeeping catch-up tasks". The setting is enabled by default with the update or a new installation. Anyone who does not want to use the catch-up tasks disables this setting.
The setting "Compute housekeeping catch-up tasks for the next day from" defines the time from which the catch-up tasks appear for the next day. Without a time, the tasks for rooms that are not done are only generated for the next day in the Housekeeping Work-Planner and on the Job list from midnight. Since the planning and lists are often printed the evening before, an earlier time can be useful.
Example: all housekeeping employees leave the hotel at 17:00 and no more rooms are cleaned afterwards. If 17:00 is entered in the setting, the lists for the next day can be printed from 17:01. The catch-up tasks are then already included.
When is a task a catch-up task?
A task is a catch-up task if "Housekeeping done" has not been set for the room since the last departure. This applies if the date in "Housekeeping done on" is before the last departure. The calculation is only performed for today and the next day.
Fields in the room
Two fields are maintained in the room for the calculation:
Housekeeping done on: Indicates when housekeeping employees last completed housekeeping for the room.
Housekeeping done afterwards on: Required to continue calculating today's catch-up tasks, even if housekeeping for the room has already been done.
Both fields are not displayed in the room form, as they are only needed for the calculation. To check why a task was generated, the two columns can be displayed in the "Room" table.
Both fields are transferred automatically to connecting rooms, as are "Housekeeping done" and "Status". The program sets the field "Housekeeping done afterwards on" to the date of the last departure. If there is a reservation with the status "Present" or "Departed" in the room today, it sets the field to today's date.
