Up and running in five minutes: here’s how to open ASA Gerry, ask your first question and let him take care of tasks safely.
1. Opening ASA Gerry
You’ll find ASA Gerry right in ASA HOTEL, in the bottom left of the menu, under the name “ASA Gerry”. One click and the chat window opens.
ASA Gerry greets you with an input field and a few quick-start buttons. You can set up the quick-start buttons entirely to your liking, tailored to your standard tasks or the questions you ask most often.
2. Asking your first question
Just type what you want to know or get done into the input field, the same way you’d talk to a colleague. No technical terms or special commands needed.
The perfect way to start is:
What can you do?
ASA Gerry will then show you an overview of his areas, from reservations and housekeeping all the way to vouchers.
More ideas to get started:
- “Who’s arriving today?”
- “Which rooms are available right now?”
- “How do I create a new guest?”
3. Using the quick-start buttons
Don’t feel like typing? Below the input field you’ll find quick-start buttons for the most common tasks. One click is all it takes, and ASA Gerry gets going.
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| In house today | Arrivals today, departures today, who’s in house? |
| Availability & reservations | Check available rooms, find a reservation, occupancy for the next 7 days |
| Guests | Search for a guest, a guest’s stays, preferences & notes |
| Invoices & figures | Open invoices, a room’s consumption, occupancy & revenue |
| Texts & help | Reply to a guest inquiry, translate a text, how does this work in ASA? |
After every answer, ASA Gerry also suggests relevant follow-up questions, which you can simply click as well.
4. Letting him handle tasks and confirming them
ASA Gerry doesn’t just give you information, he also gets tasks done for you. To make sure nothing goes wrong, there’s one simple rule: ASA Gerry doesn’t change anything without your okay.
Here’s how it works, for example with a check-in:
- You write: “Check in room 204.”
- ASA Gerry finds the matching reservation and shows you what he’s about to do.
- You review the details and confirm.
- Only then does ASA Gerry carry out the action and report back with the result.
5. Keeping the conversation going
ASA Gerry remembers what you’re talking about in the current chat, so you don’t have to explain everything from scratch each time.
- You ask: “Show me Anna Berger’s reservation.”
- Then all you need is: “Change the departure to Sunday.”
- And after that: “How much is her open balance?”
If an answer isn’t quite right yet, just say what you need differently, for example “only the ones with an open balance” or “sorted by room number”.
